HOW THE CWP FC CAME TOGETHER

Back in 2017, Dr. Suzanne Rutherford, MD found herself in a fitness rut. Through the busyness of work, motherhood, and life, her self-care routine had become non-existent.

She was starting to notice some not so great side-effects such as lack of energy, decreased mood, and clothes not fitting the same, and it was taking a toll on her physical and mental health.

She knew she didn't have the time or energy to get to the gym or group fitness classes. She had heard great things about a local women's fitness expert named Jake, so she reached out in search of an alternative solution.

Jake introduced Suzanne to the concept of online training and instantly she was hooked. Professionally designed workouts that fit into her busy schedule, not the other way around, for a fraction of the cost of in-person training.

Suzanne was able to rebuild a consistent routine with fitness and nutrition and with it came the results she'd been longing for.

A lightbulb went off in Suzanne's head.

She said, "Jake, this program has changed my life. I have no doubt it can do the same for many of my fellow women physician colleagues..."

And in January of 2018, the Canadian Women Physicians Fitness Community was born.

What started out as a 12-week trial run in 2018 with 35 members has since morphed into a fitness family of over 500 Canadian women physicians.
